Colour INKspiration #15 Blog Hop

Hi there and welcome to the Colour INKspiration #15 Blog Hop.  If you’ve been hopping around the blogs, you will have just joined me from Tanya Bell, wasn’t her project gorgeous!

I am lucky enough to be taking part as a Guest Designer with the Design Crew this fortnight.  I hope I can help to inspire you with the lovely colour palette we are working with for this challenge; Lemon Lime Twist, Elegant Eggplant, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay.

Things have been crazy busy on the farm lately, so my tired brain took a little while to come up with an idea.  In the end I flicked through the catalogue in the hope something would be sparked. Sure enough, I saw a gift bag with a background sponged through a mask and away I went.

I used Pool Party with a brayer and decorative mask to add a bit of interest to the background and also sponged right around the edges.  I thought the flowers from the Oh So Eclectic set would be a perfect way to use the challenge colours (and I am addicted to this set at the moment so I couldn’t think past it!) I have stamped off for the inside of them to get a slightly lighter colour.  They were then die cut with the coordinating dies.

As often happens when I’m creating – the stitched ovals and the die cut ‘love’ were lying in the chaos on my desk just asking to be used.  I liked how the new Touches of Nature wood leaf was curving perfectly to fit the oval, it seemed a match made in heaven and added a bit of weight to the top of the card.  I like to use the design principle of doing things in odd numbers, so I added two more natural elements in the linen twine and wooden heart.

The Elegant Eggplant cardstock tucked in behind was deliberately cut short. Okay, maybe it wasn’t, it was the only piece I had left, but I decided I liked the look of the Whisper White front slightly overhanging it.  I have just curled the top corner down and sponged it to finish it all off.

I hope you’re starting to feel inspired, next up on the Blog Hop is the very talented Nicole Wilson
