Top Tip for Rectangles!

Have you ever seen pictures of a stitched shape rectangle on a project and thought, “How did they do that? There aren’t any rectangle dies in that set!”  I know I have!

Here is a great tip from Stampin’ Up Artisan Design Team Member, Rhoda MacPherson …

How to use your square dies to create rectangles for the front of your projects

  • Simply place your chosen die on the paper and run through the Big Shot with the top cutting mat only covering three sides of the square.
  • Take the die off the paper and place it further down the card to form a rectangle.  Make sure the lines match up.
  • Then get ready to cut again by placing your top cutting mat over the lower half of the square (so that the top half doesn’t cut.)  Pass through the Big Shot and use on your project.
  • The further down you place the die, the longer the rectangle will be.  You could try other shapes too.

A great way to extend the use of our dies!
